ISLAMABAD: The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) celebrated its 42nd anniversary with a grand diplomatic reception hosted by its Representative, H.E. Ms. Buket Kop, at the Marriot Hotel Islamabad.
The event brought together ambassadors, senior government officials, and political leaders, reflecting strong international goodwill and the TRNC’s enduring pursuit of sovereignty and self-determination. Ambassador of Türkiye, Dr. Irfan Neziroğlu, and senior Ministry of Foreign Affairs official Mr. Naeem Cheema were among the prominent attendees, reaffirming the historic and fraternal ties among Türkiye, TRNC, and Pakistan.
Speakers highlighted the significance of November 15, 1983, marking the TRNC’s declaration, and paid tribute to the resilience of its people and their commitment to charting their own future. H.E. Ms. Buket Kop emphasized the shared vision for regional stability, peace, and enhanced cooperation.
A symbolic cake-cutting ceremony, jointly led by Ms. Buket Kop and Ambassador Neziroğlu, underscored the unity and friendship celebrated throughout the evening.
The 42nd-anniversary reception concluded with renewed expressions of solidarity and hope for continued progress, stability, and the TRNC’s rightful place in the global community.
