ISLAMABAD: The U.S. Embassy Islamabad has said it is closely monitoring reports of ongoing demonstrations outside the U.S. Consulate General Karachi and U.S. Consulate General Lahore, along with calls for additional demonstrations near the embassy in Islamabad and the U.S. Consulate General Peshawar.
In an advisory issued by the embassy, U.S. citizens in Pakistan have been urged to closely monitor local news and follow strict personal security measures. The advisory also recommended that citizens remain aware of their surroundings, avoid large crowds and demonstration areas, and ensure that their Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) registration is up to date.
The embassy emphasized that American nationals should stay vigilant and take precautionary steps during the ongoing demonstrations.
