UET Mardan and IWMI Sign MoU to Promote Climate-Resilient Water and Agriculture Systems

MARDAN: The University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Mardan and the International Water Management Institute (IWMI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance collaboration in water resource management, climate resilience, and sustainable agriculture across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The partnership is supported under the FCDO-funded WRAP (Climate Resilient Solutions for Improving Water Governance) program and aims to strengthen research, innovation, and policy support for climate-smart water and agricultural systems in the province.
Key Collaboration Areas:
•Joint research on water management, climate change, and early warning systems
•Development of real-time water accounting and smart irrigation solutions
•Piloting early drought warning and crop insurance systems in Charsadda and Mansehra
•Capacity building, technical workshops, and professional training programs
•Promotion of nature-based solutions and climate-resilient farming practices
•Collaboration with provincial and federal departments including PMD, FFC, Agriculture, Irrigation, Forestry, and P&D
•Priority engagement for UET Mardan in related energy, technology, and AI-based projects
This partnership will help accelerate technology-driven solutions, improve water governance, and build a climate-resilient future for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
