UoM continues relief efforts for flood victims in Buner and Bajaur

MALAKAND: The University of Malakand is continuously taking proactive steps in response to the recent floods in Buner and Bajaur by sending relief packages to the affected communities. Under the directives of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Rashid Ahmed, the university has mobilized its employees to donate generously to the cause. The relief packages comprise essential items such as food, clothing, and medicine, aiming to provide immediate support to those in need, particularly in remote areas. The response from the university community has been overwhelming, with employees donating up to Rs 1.5 million so far. The donation drive is ongoing, and the university is committed to continuing its support. Today, two vehicles carrying 80 relief packages have been dispatched to Buner and Bajawar. Dr. Imtiaz Ahmad, Chairman of the Department of Mathematics, has been designated as the Focal Person to oversee the relief efforts. The university volunteer club of students under the leadership of Dr Farman Ullah is active and are working in affected areas. Employees, including women and children, are actively participating in the initiative, demonstrating the university’s solidarity with the affected communities. Donations are being regularly collected. The next step is to contribute to rehabilitation activities for victims’ families in order to help them survive and clean up the area. The university appeals to students and the public to support this noble cause and contribute generously to the relief efforts.
