CS Shahab Ali Shah Chairs Weekly Review Meeting

PESHAWAR: A weekly review meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Shahab Ali Shah, reviewed key governance areas including public service delivery, energy conservation measures, price control, anti-encroachment operations, and the ongoing polio eradication campaign across the province.

The meeting was informed that, on the directives of the Chief Minister, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa multiple initiatives are underway to improve service delivery for the public. In light of the prevailing global situation, energy conservation measures are being effectively implemented, including the enforcement of fixed market closing timings. It was reported that 3,221 markets were inspected across the province last night to ensure compliance with government directives. District administrations are submitting daily reports to the Chief Secretary’s Office through a dedicated dashboard.

Officials also briefed the meeting on the availability of petroleum products, stating that stock levels at 2,590 petrol pumps are being closely monitored to ensure uninterrupted supply and maintain demand-supply balance.

Regarding anti-encroachment efforts, the meeting was informed that during the past week, 33 operations were conducted across the province, resulting in the retrieval of 268 kanals of land. Authorities reiterated that indiscriminate action against illegal encroachments will continue.

The meeting was further apprised that the provincial government has fully digitized the monitoring of anti-encroachment drives, energy conservation measures, and price control mechanisms to enable timely decision-making and improve overall performance.

It was also noted that a province-wide anti-polio campaign has commenced, targeting 6.5 million children. A total of 35,500 teams have been deployed to administer polio drops door-to-door.

The Chief Secretary directed all concerned departments to ensure effective implementation of these measures and to further intensify efforts to provide relief to the public.
