PESHAWAR: Speaker of the Provincial Assembly and Patron-in-Chief of the Women Parliamentary Caucus, Babar Saleem Swati, administered the oath to women members of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly under the rules of the Women Parliamentary Caucus (KP Assembly) during a formal ceremony held in the Assembly Conference Room.
The ceremony was attended by Provincial Minister for Education Arshad Ayub Khan and Member Provincial Assembly Nisar Baz from the opposition. Senior officials of the Assembly Secretariat, including Secretary Assembly Syed Waqar Shah and other relevant officers, also participated and assisted in the proceedings.
The women members of the Assembly pledged to perform their duties with integrity and responsibility in line with the objectives and mandate of the Women Parliamentary Caucus.
On the occasion, Speaker Babar Saleem Swati stated that the Women Parliamentary Caucus provides an effective and structured platform for women legislators to highlight issues related to legislation, policymaking, and women’s empowerment in a more coordinated manner.
He further emphasized that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly is committed to strengthening women’s representation and enhancing their active role in parliamentary affairs, and institutional measures in this regard will be further reinforced.
The ceremony concluded smoothly and was described as an important step towards strengthening democratic processes and improving institutional functioning within the Assembly.
