Peshawar: In line with the directives of Managing Director PTV Ashfaq Ahmad Khalil and Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, practical progress has begun on a project to dub popular Urdu-language dramas of Pakistan Television into Pashto for broadcast.

The dubbing process was formally launched yesterday at the PTV Peshawar Centre. As part of this initiative, the Urdu drama “Kohi Ishq” is being dubbed into Pashto under the presentation of senior producer Aurangzeb Afridi.

According to General Manager Ibrahim Kamal, this step will not only revive activities at the Peshawar Centre but will also create opportunities for artists, writers, and other skilled professionals. He added that work on a new Pashto drama serial will also begin soon.

This initiative is being seen as an important step toward promoting regional languages and delivering quality content to audiences in their native languages, further expanding PTV’s broadcasting reach.
