International Conference ICMRBST-2026 kicks off at Islamia College Peshawar, emphasis on promotion of scientific research -

The “International Conference on Multidisciplinary Research in Basic Science and Technology” (ICMRBST-2026) was formally inaugurated at Islamia College Peshawar with a grand ceremony, which was attended by senior government officials, eminent educationists, domestic and foreign researchers and a large number of students. The special guests of the inaugural ceremony included Additional Secretary Higher Education Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Farooq, Additional Director PSL Dr. Ghazala Ali Khan, Keynote Speaker Dr. Yasin Iqbal Yousafzai, Vice Chancellor Islamia College Peshawar Prof. Dr. Ahmadur Rehman Saljooqi, Registrar Dr. Mansoor Jalali and Director ORIC and Chief Organizer Dr. Safir Ahmed Arbab. Addressing the ceremony, the speakers emphasized that in the present era, adopting scientific research and modern technology has become inevitable. He said that promoting international links between universities is the need of the hour so that the quality of research can be improved and new dimensions can be introduced. The speakers also emphasized on awakening research awareness among young researchers and students and expressed the determination that they will be provided training according to international standards. He said that such international conferences not only promote academic activities but also play an important role in adapting the new generation to modern scientific requirements. On this occasion, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Ahmad-ur-Rehman Saljuqi, while shedding light on the research vision of Islamia College Peshawar, said that the institution is committed to promoting modern research and innovation and such conferences will prove to be an important milestone in scientific progress. The inaugural ceremony saw full participation of teachers, national and foreign scholars and students. The participants appreciated the efforts of the administration of Islamia College Peshawar, especially the Director ORIC, Dr. Safir Ahmed Arbab, and described the conference as an important step towards promoting academic and research activities in the province.
