Dera Ismail Khan: Vice Chancellor of the University of Agriculture, Prof. Dr. Latif Gondal, held an important meeting with Chairman Higher Education Commission (HEC), Prof. Dr. Niaz Ahmed Akhtar, to discuss the quality of higher education, promotion of agricultural research, and key challenges faced by universities.
During the meeting, the Vice Chancellor highlighted the need for modern research in agricultural education, emphasizing scientific methods to increase production and ensure that research outcomes benefit farmers at the grassroots level. He also briefed the HEC Chairman on ongoing academic and research initiatives at the university.
Chairman HEC appreciated the universityโs efforts in education and research, assuring full support to align research standards with international levels. He stressed the importance of strengthening coordination between universities and HEC to ensure research contributes effectively to social and economic development.
Both sides agreed to expand mutual collaboration, enhance faculty development programs, and take joint steps to provide modern research facilities for students. The meeting concluded on a positive note, with a shared commitment to improving the higher education sector.
