ISLAMABAD: A humanitarian assistance handover ceremony was held at the Embassy of Iran in Islamabad, marking a joint effort to support families affected by the ongoing humanitarian situation in Iran.
The ceremony was hosted by H.E. Dr. Amiri Reza Moghadem, Ambassador of Iran to Pakistan, and attended by Chairperson of the Pakistan Red Crescent Society Mrs. Farzhana Naek, Secretary General PRCS Muhammad Abaidullah Khan, Head of Delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Pakistan Christoph Sutter, Head of Delegation of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies in Pakistan Andreas von Weissenberg, Ambassador-designate of Indonesia to Pakistan Chandra Warsenanto Sukotjo, and representatives of the Palang Merah Indonesia.
The humanitarian assistance, comprising medicines and emergency medical equipment, was provided by the Indonesian Red Cross Society in collaboration with the Pakistan Red Crescent Society, IFRC, and ICRC. The supplies were procured in Pakistan and facilitated by PRCS for onward dispatch to Iran in accordance with requirements shared by the Iranian Embassy.
Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Dr. Amiri Reza Moghadem appreciated the humanitarian support and the collective efforts of the Indonesian Red Cross, Pakistan Red Crescent Society, IFRC, and ICRC for standing in solidarity with the people of Iran during a challenging time.
The ceremony highlighted the spirit of international cooperation and humanitarian partnership aimed at alleviating suffering and providing timely assistance to those in need.
