In a major breakthrough for law enforcement efforts in Sindh’s riverine belt, 60 wanted dacoits surrendered in Shikarpur as authorities initiated the second phase of the Sindh Government’s surrender policy under Operation Nijat-e-Mehran. The development marks a significant step toward restoring peace and reinforcing the writ of the state in the Katcha areas, long plagued by criminal activity.

SSP Shikarpur Muhammad Kaleem Malik said the second phase of the surrender policy had been launched resulting in the voluntary surrender of 60 outlaws through coordinated efforts by Shikarpur Police, Sindh Rangers and federal intelligence agencies.

The surrendered individuals were wanted in numerous cases, including kidnapping for ransom, armed robbery and other serious crimes registered across various districts. Among them was notorious outlaw Belo Teghani, whose head carried a bounty of 1 Crore. The SSP said all surrendered suspects would face legal proceedings and stand trial in courts for the cases registered against them. He emphasized that the surrender policy provides offenders with an opportunity to abandon criminal activities and submit to the law but does not exempt them from accountability.

Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar praised DIG Larkana and SSP Shikarpur for the achievement, describing it as a major success in the government’s efforts to restore peace in the Katcha region. He said the surrender of dangerous and wanted criminals, reflected the effectiveness of the government’s strategy and the growing success of Operation Nijat-e-Mehran.

The Home Minister added that the combined efforts of the Sindh Government, Sindh Police and other law enforcement agencies were yielding positive results. He reaffirmed that operations would continue without interruption until peace is fully restored, criminal networks are dismantled and the state’s writ is firmly established across the riverine areas.
