The event, the first of its kind in the province, brought together senior government officials, education department representatives, teachers, and nearly 2,000 students from across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
The inauguration ceremony featured a cake-cutting with students, followed by colorful cultural and educational performances, including speeches, tableaus, band performances, and other student-led activities highlighting the province’s diverse heritage and talent.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Arshad Ayub Khan said the festival reflects the government’s commitment to providing students with opportunities beyond the classroom. He emphasized that teamwork is essential for meaningful educational reform and noted that the initiative, launched with the support of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, will help students learn about the province’s diverse cultures and traditions while strengthening their confidence, leadership skills, and personal development.

The minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to improving the education sector through reforms in the posting and transfer system, strengthening institutional performance, establishing a separate directorate for primary schools, and introducing a more effective examination system. He also stressed that lasting improvements in education can only be achieved by recognizing and respecting the role of teachers.
Hazara Division Commissioner Fayyaz Ali Shah highlighted the importance of education in national development and announced plans to develop one model school in every tehsil, with district officers taking responsibility for supporting selected schools. He pledged to personally mentor one boys’ and one girls’ school in the division.
Chairman of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education Abbottabad, Inayatullah Waseem, said that providing quality education and grooming opportunities for children is a responsibility rather than a favor, adding that strong cooperation between parents and teachers is essential for building a progressive and educated society.
