PESHAWAR: The Midcourt Tennis Academy has been formally launched at the Peshawar Sports Complex, offering young tennis players an opportunity to receive quality coaching and develop their skills.
A total of 15 junior players, including 11 boys and four girls, have joined the academy.
Director General Sports Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ishfaq Khan was the chief guest at the opening ceremony. KP Olympic Association General Secretary Zulfiqar Butt, KP Tennis Association Senior Vice President Umar Ayaz Khalil, Chief Coach Shafiq Ullah Khan, Administrator Yousaf Afridi and coaches Zakir Ullah, Israr Gul and Roman were also present.
Speaking at the ceremony, DG Sports Ishfaq Khan said providing young athletes with modern facilities and quality training opportunities was among the department’s key priorities. He welcomed the launch of the academy, saying it would help identify and groom promising tennis talent in the province.
He assured continued support from the Sports Directorate for the promotion of tennis and other sports, saying such initiatives would provide young players with greater opportunities to excel at national and international levels.
The KP Tennis Association appreciated Madam Zara for sponsoring the academy, saying her support would help young players improve their skills and contribute to the promotion of tennis in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
