A Major Honor for KP & Radio Pakistan Peshawar

PESHAWAR: Senior Producer Ikramullah Marwat of Radio Pakistan Peshawar secured first position in the Electronic Media category at the All Pakistan Media Coalition Competition organized by UNFPA and the Population Council Pakistan. The achievement is a proud moment for both Radio Pakistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The competition featured more than 60 journalists from across the country in two categories: Electronic Media and Print Media. Notably, journalists from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa won first positions in both categories.

Ikramullah Marwat’s award-winning radio feature titled “Impacts of Rapid Population Growth on Human Health and Behavior” highlighted the social, environmental, and health challenges linked to population growth, particularly in Peshawar and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The jury praised the report for its strong research, expert insights, and impactful storytelling.

In the Print Media category, Wisal Yousafzai of The Express Tribune won first position. Other winners included M. Afridi, Islam Gul Afridi, Khaista Rehman, Khalida Niaz, Adnan Lodhi, and Rafiullah Mandokhail.

The event was organized in collaboration with the Information Service Academy and aimed to promote evidence-based reporting and strengthen awareness about Pakistan’s National Action Plan on Population. Certificates of appreciation were distributed among the winners at the conclusion of the ceremony.
