ABBOTTABAD: The Abbottabad Table Tennis Championship Season 2 got underway with a colorful opening ceremony, attracting a large number of male and female players from across Pakistan. The championship aims to provide young talent with a platform to showcase their skills while promoting table tennis at the national level.
The event was officially inaugurated by Dr. Nayeen Uzma. The opening ceremony was attended by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Table Tennis Association Secretary General Ahmad Nawaz Malizai, Tournament Organizer Zahid Tanoli, renowned table tennis players Majid Rafiq Mughal and Sajid Rafiq Mughal, Modern Age College coach Muhammad Qaisar, Muhammad Ibrahim, sports officials, athletes, and spectators.
Speaking at the ceremony, the speakers said such national competitions play a vital role in discovering emerging talent, strengthening interprovincial harmony, promoting sportsmanship, and fostering national unity.
A special highlight of the championship is the Hazara Cultural Show, organized for players and officials to introduce participants from across the country to the rich culture, traditions, music, and heritage of the Hazara region. The initiative was widely appreciated as a unique blend of sports and culture.
According to the organizers, exciting matches will be held in various categories throughout the championship, while winners will be presented with trophies, medals, and prizes at the closing ceremony.
