Times Report

PESHAWAR: Assistant Commissioner Matni, Saeed Manan, has called upon citizens, athletes, and people from all walks of life to actively participate in tree plantation activities at homes, neighborhoods, educational institutions, and sports facilities to promote a greener and healthier environment.

He expressed these views while speaking to the media during a tree plantation ceremony held at Malik International Cricket Academy in the Pishtakhara area of Peshawar. On the occasion, he planted a sapling within the academy premises and described the plantation campaign as a positive and commendable initiative.

Saeed Manan said that trees not only enhance the beauty of surroundings but also contribute to a clean and healthy environment for future generations. He noted that climate change has become a major global challenge and emphasized that tree plantation is one of the most effective and practical measures to address its impacts.

He added that if every citizen plants at least one tree in their home or neighborhood, it could significantly improve the city’s environment, help reduce rising temperatures, and control air pollution.

The Assistant Commissioner further stated that plantation campaigns should be expanded to sports grounds, educational institutions, and public spaces to raise environmental awareness among the younger generation. He appreciated initiatives taken by institutions like cricket academies, saying they not only promote sports but also encourage positive social activities.

Among those present on the occasion were Malik Farman Ali, Additional Assistant Commissioner Matni Ismatullah, and Tehsildar Matni Bawar, along with a large number of young cricketers and participants.

The participants pledged to actively support the plantation campaign and contribute to making Peshawar greener and more beautiful. 🌳
