PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information, Science & Information Technology Shafi Jan has strongly condemned the arrest of Aleema Khan, the sister of PTI founder Imran Khan, describing it as a manifestation of fear and panic within the Punjab regime.
In a post on X, Shafi Jan said that the arrest of Aleema Khan outside her residence was a highly condemnable act and an attempt to subject another member of Imran Khan’s family to political victimization.
He said that following Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi, his sister was now also being targeted through what he described as politically motivated measures.
“When public support is lost, such illegal and unconstitutional tactics are resorted to,” Shafi Jan said.
He added that the fear of the September 27 long march had left the “fake government” in panic and that such measures would not intimidate PTI.
Shafi Jan further said that the arrest of a non political woman under the MPO law an expression of political panic and political victimization by the Punjab government.
He said the government’s actions would not deter PTI workers and supporters from exercising their democratic and constitutional rights.
