PESHAWAR : Provincial President of Pakistan Hindkoan Movement Muhammad Akbar Sethi, in his statement on the occasion of Kashmir Exploitation Day, said that August 5, 2019, was the darkest day in the history of occupied Jammu and Kashmir, when India took a unilateral step to revoke the region’s special constitutional status and deprived the Kashmiri people of their basic rights.
He said that every citizen of Pakistan and the Hindkoan community stands in complete solidarity with the Kashmiri people and reaffirms its commitment to continue providing them political, moral, and diplomatic support.
Muhammad Akbar Sethi stated that India has turned occupied Kashmir into the world’s largest open-air prison over the past several years, where atrocities against unarmed and innocent Kashmiris continue. He said that young people are being harassed and detained without justification, while serious human rights violations by Indian forces remain a major concern for the international community.
He added that Indian attempts to alter the demographic balance of the occupied valley would not succeed, as the Kashmiri people have continued their struggle for their rights despite immense hardships and oppression.
The provincial president of Pakistan Hindkoan Movement urged the United Nations and the international community to end their silence on the Kashmir issue and take effective measures to stop human rights violations. He said that, in accordance with United Nations Security Council resolutions, the Kashmiri people should be granted their fundamental and recognized right to self-determination so they can decide their future according to their own will.
Muhammad Akbar Sethi further said that the silence of international institutions poses a serious threat to regional peace. He expressed the view that the sacrifices of Kashmiris would not go in vain and that the day was not far when the sun of peace and justice would rise in occupied Kashmir.
He appealed to political, social, and religious organizations to express solidarity with the oppressed Kashmiri people on Kashmir Exploitation Day and play their role in highlighting alleged human rights violations at the international level. He said that every Pakistani stands with their Kashmiri brothers and sisters and will continue to support them.
