SYDNEY: The Australian Pashtun Association Australia (APAA), a registered social, cultural and welfare organization, has successfully concluded its annual elections, electing a new executive committee in a transparent and democratic process.
According to the official results, Intikhab Alam was elected President, while Dr. Iftikhar Ahmed became Senior Vice President. Jahanzeb Shah Syed and Professor Dr. Hassan Ali Khattak were elected Vice Presidents. Professor Ahmed Saeed Nadeem was elected General Secretary, Zahid Khan Sabaon Cultural Secretary, Mazhar Alam Finance Secretary, and senior journalist Asif Shahzad was elected Media and Information Secretary.
The newly elected executive committee also includes Dr. Zawar Khan, Dr. Shujaul Islam, Ibrahim Shah, Imran Afzal Khan, Dr. Fazalullah, Muhammad Ajmal Khan, and Inayat-ur-Rehman.
Addressing members after the announcement of the results, President Intikhab Alam thanked the community for its confidence and pledged to work with the new team for the welfare of the Pashtun community in Australia. He said the association would continue promoting Pashtun culture, strengthening community unity, supporting younger generations, and organizing activities that preserve language, traditions, and cultural heritage.
General Secretary Professor Ahmed Saeed Nadeem said the association would be run on more active, organized, and modern lines while ensuring the participation of all sections of the community.
