ISLAMABAD: Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Kainat Azhar Khan visited the route of the G-6 Muharram procession early Thursday morning to review traffic management and security-related arrangements for the main procession of Muharram-ul-Haram.
During the visit, the CTO inspected various points along the procession route and issued necessary instructions to traffic officers deployed on duty to ensure smooth traffic flow and facilitate mourners.
Officials informed that more than 350 traffic police officers and personnel have been deployed to manage traffic and assist commuters during the main Muharram procession.
Kainat Azhar Khan directed officers to remain vigilant and ensure effective implementation of the traffic plan to minimize inconvenience to the public while maintaining uninterrupted movement along designated routes.
The Islamabad Traffic Police also appealed to citizens participating in the procession to park their vehicles and motorcycles only in designated parking areas and cooperate with traffic personnel to help ensure orderly arrangements.
The traffic management plan has been designed to facilitate mourners and commuters alike while ensuring smooth movement and public safety during Muharram-ul-Haram.
