TANK: Deputy Commissioner Tank Jamshed Khan and District Police Officer (DPO) Abdul Samad Khan on Friday visited the main Ashura procession at Garha Baloch to review security arrangements and ensure the peaceful observance of Youm-e-Ashur.
The visit was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Naimatullah Kundi, Assistant Commissioner Jamshed Alam, Additional Assistant Commissioners Malik Sajid Ali Khan and Fahim Akhtar, along with officers from the district administration, police, Rescue 1122, Health Department, TMA, Civil Defence and other relevant departments.
The Deputy Commissioner and DPO inspected the procession route and reviewed security measures, roadblocks, traffic management, cleanliness, street lighting, drinking water facilities, medical camps, ambulance services and rescue arrangements. They also assessed the performance of police personnel deployed along the procession route.
Keeping in view the hot weather, the Deputy Commissioner directed all concerned departments to ensure the uninterrupted availability of cold drinking water, water sprinklers, medical assistance, ambulances and other essential facilities for mourners.
Officials briefed the Deputy Commissioner on the Ashura security plan, monitoring arrangements, inter-departmental coordination and emergency response measures.
Jamshed Khan said the district administration, police and all relevant departments were working in close coordination to maintain law and order, ensure peaceful conduct of Ashura processions and provide every possible facility to mourners. He directed all departments to remain fully alert and maintain effective arrangements until the conclusion of Ashura.
DPO Abdul Samad Khan instructed police officers to maintain strict surveillance of procession routes and sensitive locations, emphasizing professionalism and vigilance to ensure a safe environment for mourners.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner and DPO appreciated the services of police, Rescue 1122, Health Department, TMA, Civil Defence and other personnel deployed on Ashura duty for their dedication, professionalism and effective performance.
