DC Sanaullah Khan Briefs Governor Kundi on Muharram Security Plan in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi visited the Supreme Command Post Peshawar to review law and order and security arrangements put in place for Muharram-ul-Haram.

Deputy Commissioner Peshawar Captain (Retd) Sanaullah Khan, SSP Operations Farhan Khan, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Muhammad Dawood Saleemi, Assistant Commissioner (City) Zeeshan Najeeb, DG Metropolitan Qadir Naseer, administrative officers and other concerned officials were present on the occasion.

During the visit, Governor Kundi was given a detailed briefing on the comprehensive security plan for Muharram-ul-Haram, including monitoring of processions and religious gatherings, traffic management, emergency response measures, control room operations and coordination among various departments and agencies.

Deputy Commissioner Peshawar Sanaullah Khan briefed the Governor on the arrangements made by the district administration to ensure the peaceful observance of Muharram and facilitate mourners during the holy month.

The Governor reviewed the monitoring and coordination mechanisms established at the Supreme Command Post and directed the concerned authorities to further strengthen coordination and make all arrangements more effective to ensure maximum security and convenience for participants in Muharram processions and gatherings.

Later, Governor Faisal Karim Kundi, accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Sanaullah Khan and other officials, inspected the routes of various Muharram processions. During the inspection, a detailed review was conducted of cleanliness measures, street lighting, removal of encroachments, traffic flow and overall security arrangements.

The Governor issued necessary directives to the relevant departments to address any shortcomings and ensure the smooth and peaceful conduct of Muharram activities across the provincial capital.

Officials reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining law and order and providing a safe environment for mourners through effective coordination, continuous monitoring and timely response during Muharram-ul-Haram.
