Deputy Commissioner Kohat Rahimullah Mehsud has on Thursday inspected facilities at Darul Amaan women’s shelter and local schools as part of the provincial government’s “Awami Agenda” programme.
Accompanied by the Assistant Commissioner and District Social Welfare Officer, the DC reviewed accommodation, food, health, security and sanitation arrangements at Darul Amaan. He said welfare institutions safeguard vulnerable women and children and warned that negligence in their care would not be tolerated. Staff were directed to ensure transparent use of government resources to provide a safe environment for the residents.
Later, Mehsud visited Government Middle School KDA and Government Primary School No. 2 KDA, checking classrooms, teacher attendance, hygiene and teaching quality. He stressed that quality education is every child’s right and directed authorities to further improve the standards and maintain a healthy environment for students.
Meanwhile, in Lachi Tehsil, Assistant Commissioner Salman Yousaf led an anti-dengue awareness campaign with the Tehsil Municipal Officer. Officials visited local hotels and briefed citizens on preventive measures against the mosquito-borne virus. The Deputy Commissioner said district-wide campaigns were being intensified to curb dengue risks during the monsoon season.
