DERA ISMAIL KHAN (Muhammad Rehan): Renowned Pakistani orthopaedic surgeon Dr Faseeh Shahab has won the Young Arthroplasty Forum Award of the Asia Pacific Arthroplasty Society (APAS) at its annual meeting held in Malaysia last week.
The award was presented on the basis of points earned through interactive medical and academic discussions on complex hip and knee arthroplasty cases. The achievement recognises Dr Faseeh Shahab’s clinical knowledge, decision-making skills and active academic contribution to the field of arthroplasty.
In another landmark achievement for Pakistan, Professor Shahid Noor of Karachi has been elected as the next President of APAS. He is the first Pakistani to hold the prestigious position, marking an important milestone for Pakistani orthopaedics and reflecting the growing international recognition of Pakistani orthopaedic surgeons.
