‘Invite from Dubai’ offers travel discounts and perks, not cash payments to visitors
TIMES REPORT
ISLAMABAD: Reports claiming that the UAE is providing cash or monetary grants to family members of residents visiting the country are incorrect. The claim is based on a misunderstanding of Dubai’s official tourism initiative, “Invite from Dubai.”
The program, launched by Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism, offers tourism benefits and discounts worth more than AED 3,000, rather than direct cash payments. The rewards are available to both UAE residents and their invited family members or friends visiting from abroad.
The benefits include discounts of up to 45% on participating hotels, offers at entertainment venues and restaurants, a free Careem Plus membership, and discounts on Hala Taxi rides.
The initiative applies to visitors arriving between July 20 and October 31. Eligible UAE residents aged 18 or above with a valid Emirates ID can register their guests through the official Visit Dubai platform. After the visitors arrive and their details are verified, the digital rewards are sent by email within 72 hours for use during their stay.
