Swat: The Federal Ombudsman Secretariat has taken prompt action to safeguard the fundamental rights of a citizen by addressing alleged maladministration by the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA).
A complaint was filed by Mr. Muhammad Khan, son of Pirdad Khan, a resident of Hawa Dheri, Mian Banda, Tehsil Timergara, District Lower Dir. The complainant approached the Federal Ombudsman regarding difficulties in the correction of birth registration records and issuance of his national identity card.
Upon receipt of the complaint, the Federal Ombudsman Secretariat immediately took notice of the matter, sought a report from the concerned authorities, and issued directives for the priority resolution of the applicant’s issue. As a result of these timely interventions, not only was the citizen’s legal right safeguarded, but institutional performance also witnessed improvement.
This initiative reflects that the Federal Ombudsman Secretariat remains fully committed and proactive in providing swift, effective, and cost-free redress of public grievances. Citizens are facilitated to approach the office of the Federal Ombudsman in cases of maladministration, delay, or injustice by any government department, where complaints are resolved without any fee or legal representation.
