Food Safety Team Conducts Joint Operation in DI Khan During Ramadan

DERA ISMAIL KHAN: On the instructions of the Director General of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority and the Deputy Commissioner Dera, the Food Safety Team in Dera Ismail Khan carried out a joint operation along with the district administration and other relevant line departments to ensure the provision of safe and quality food to the public.

According to details, during the operation milk tankers supplying milk from Punjab were inspected and samples were collected and tested on the spot. A total of six milk samples were examined and all were found satisfactory.

Bakery and fast food units were also inspected during the operation. Officials checked the quality of cooking oil used in these outlets, and where oil samples failed the quality test, the oil was destroyed on the spot and fines were imposed on the respective owners.

During the inspection, shopkeepers were directed to strictly follow food safety laws while conducting their businesses. In addition, expired licenses of several outlets were also renewed during the campaign.

Deputy Director Sajjad Ahmed said that such operations will continue during the holy month of Ramadan to ensure the availability of safe and hygienic food for the public.
