RAWALPINDI / BAJAUR: Four innocent civilians were martyred when a mortar shell reportedly fired from across the border landed in the Leti (Tari Pasha) area of Salarzai Tehsil in Bajaur, according to local and security sources.
Officials stated that the shell struck a residential house, resulting in the immediate death of four brothers identified as Sajid, Ayaz, Riaz, and Moaz. One other person was seriously injured in the incident and was shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.
Security sources confirmed that mortar shells fell in the Salarzai area and surrounding regions, causing civilian casualties. The injured individual is currently under treatment, hospital sources added.
Authorities said that the situation is being closely monitored and necessary measures are underway. Further details will be shared as they become available.
Local residents expressed concern over the incident, while security officials reiterated that appropriate steps are being taken in response to cross-border firing.
