Governor Faisal Karim Kundi Backs Wheelchair Cricket Promotion

ISLAMABAD: A delegation of the Pakistan Wheelchair Cricket Council, led by Chairperson Rukhsana Rajput, called on Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi to discuss the promotion of wheelchair cricket and preparations for the 3rd T20 Wheelchair Cricket Asia Cup 2026.

The delegation, which included Pakistan Wheelchair Cricket Team captain and two-time Asian champion Muhammad Zeeshan, informed the governor that the tournament will be held in Karachi and Hyderabad from September 29 to October 8, 2026, with teams from across South Asia participating.

Governor Faisal Karim Kundi congratulated the team on its achievements and said special athletes had brought pride to Pakistan through their dedication and talent. The delegation requested the governor to write to the Chief Minister of Sindh seeking administrative support for the successful staging of the Asia Cup.

The governor assured the delegation of his continued support for promoting sports for persons with disabilities, saying the country’s special athletes are national heroes and deserve every possible encouragement.
