ISLAMABAD: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, has extended heartfelt congratulations to all newly elected office bearers of the National Press Club (NPC) Islamabad, who were successful in the Annual Elections 2026–27.
In his message, the Governor congratulated the newly elected President Abdul Razak Sial, Secretary Dr. Furqan Rao, and all other successful office bearers, terming their victory a manifestation of the confidence reposed by the journalist community.
He appreciated the transparent and peaceful conduct of the elections and said that the large participation of journalists reflects the strength of democratic traditions within the Press Club.
Governor Kundi expressed hope that the new leadership would utilize its capabilities to address the issues faced by working journalists, particularly job security, timely payment of salaries by media owners, and professional training opportunities.
He emphasized that freedom of expression is the foundation of democracy and stated that the National Press Club has always played a leading role in upholding this principle.
The Governor also extended special congratulations to Vice President Sehrish Qureshi and Joint Secretary Shakeela Jalil, who were elected on women’s seats, and welcomed the increasing active participation of female journalists in the country’s media landscape.
