Governor welcomes private sector interest in KP Champions League

PESHAWAR: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Monday welcomed the interest shown by Aamin Housing Society-1 in acquiring ownership of a team in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Champions League (KCL), saying the league would project the province’s peaceful image and provide young cricketers with opportunities to showcase their talent.

The Governor expressed these views during a meeting at the Governor House with the Focal Person of the Chairman of Prime Minister’s Youth Programme Ibrahim Noor, political and social leader Abdullah Nangyal Bettani, Dr Hazrat Yousaf Danish and political and social activist Kifayatullah Khan.

The meeting discussed various aspects of the KP Champions League in detail. Representatives of Aamin Housing Society-1 expressed their interest in owning a team in the league, which was welcomed by the Governor.

Governor Faisal Kundi said the KP Champions League would send a positive message to the world that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are peace-loving, passionate about sports and rich in talent.

He said the league would provide an excellent platform for young cricketers to display their abilities while serving as a source of hope, happiness and healthy recreational activity for the people.

The delegation assured the Governor of its full support and cooperation for the successful conduct of the KP Champions League and also invited him to visit Aamin Housing Society-1.
