Politics is not merely about attaining power; its true purpose is to serve the people. A successful public representative is recognized not by promises or speeches, but by practical performance and meaningful public service. Haji Zahid Ullah Wazir, Member of the Provincial Assembly from PK-99 Bannu and Chairman of the District Development Advisory Committee (DDAC), has launched an impressive range of development initiatives within a short span of time, with their impact becoming increasingly visible across the constituency.
Major infrastructure projects, including road construction, street paving, link bridges, tube wells, pressure pumps, drainage systems, and clean drinking water schemes, have either been completed or are progressing rapidly. In areas that have long struggled with water shortages, the approval of multi-million-rupee water supply projects has brought renewed hope to local residents.
The health and education sectors have also witnessed significant improvements. The upgradation of Domel Hospital to a Type-D Hospital, the approval of two new women’s colleges, and several other welfare-oriented initiatives reflect a commitment to ensuring that development funds are utilized for projects that directly benefit the public.
One of the most notable recent initiatives is the distribution of solar power systems to deserving families and individuals imprisoned in connection with the May 9 incidents. Several beneficiaries from PK-99 have already received solar systems, while Haji Zahid Ullah Wazir has also pledged to facilitate eligible individuals from other constituencies.
Public representatives are ultimately judged by the positive impact of their work on the lives of ordinary citizens. If the current pace of development continues, PK-99 Bannu has the potential to emerge as a model constituency for sustainable development and public welfare.
The final verdict, of course, rests with the people. However, the speed of development, the visible implementation of projects, and Haji Zahid Ullah Wazir’s practical approach to addressing public concerns have established him as one of the most active and effective public representatives in his constituency.
