BAJAUR : The All Secretaries Association Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has called on Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, Local Government Minister Mina Khan Afridi, the Secretary of Local Government, and the Director General of Local Government to take immediate action on what it described as the legitimate, constitutional and legal demands of Local Government employees.
In a statement, the Association urged the provincial government to approve the long-pending Scale Upgradation case, which has remained unresolved since 2022, and to issue the official notification without further delay in order to address the growing concerns of employees.
The Association also demanded that the proposed Local Government Amendment Bill clearly safeguard the future, service structure, seniority and job security of Local Government employees. It further emphasized that the All Secretaries Association should be taken into confidence at every stage of the legislative process.
Additionally, the Association called for the immediate approval of Senior Village Secretary (BPS-11) posts in the merged districts and Torghar district, stating that these positions are essential for strengthening the local government system and improving public service delivery in those areas.
Describing these demands as the legitimate rights of employees, the Association reiterated that “Justice delayed is justice denied.” It urged the provincial government to resolve the long-standing issues of Local Government employees on a priority basis and ensure the protection of their professional rights.
