PESHAWAR : Peshawar High Court lawyer Waqas Azim Khan has been appointed as a member of the Dispute Resolution Committee (DRC) at Badbher Police Station, marking a new responsibility for the 35-year-old legal professional and resident of Phandu Ghareebabad.
A formal notification of his appointment has been issued by the Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) and the Superintendent of Police (SP) Sadar.
According to local residents and community elders, Khan is among the youngest members to serve on a DRC. His appointment has been welcomed by residents and elders of Phandu Ghareebabad, who congratulated him and expressed their appreciation for his selection.
Community members said that his legal background and professional experience could prove useful in resolving local disputes through dialogue, reconciliation and mutual understanding under the DRC mechanism.
Speaking after his appointment, Waqas Azim Khan said he would make every effort to resolve public disputes amicably and in accordance with the law. He said he would strive to fulfil the confidence placed in him by the police authorities, community elders and local residents.
The DRC mechanism is aimed at providing a forum for the amicable settlement of disputes through dialogue, mutual understanding and reconciliation, while ensuring that the process remains within the framework of the law.
With his appointment, Khan is expected to contribute his legal knowledge and community experience to efforts aimed at promoting peaceful resolution of disputes and strengthening public confidence in the reconciliation process.
