ISLAMABAD: Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) will make its historic debut at the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026, with Pakistan becoming an official participant in the landmark event.
According to the Pakistan Mixed Martial Arts Federation (PMMAF), Abu Huraira has been selected by the Asian Mixed Martial Arts Association (AMMA) as an International Technical Official (ITO)/Referee for the MMA competitions.
Asim Khan will make history as Pakistan’s first MMA athlete to compete at the Asian Games, while Dilawar Khan Sanan will serve as Team Official.
PMMAF President Zulfiqar Ali congratulated the Pakistani representatives, saying the inclusion of MMA in the Asian Games and Pakistan’s participation as both athlete and official marked a major milestone for the sport.
He said the achievement would open new opportunities for Pakistan’s young MMA athletes and officials. He also expressed best wishes for Abu Huraira, Asim Khan and Dilawar Khan Sanan and appealed to the nation to pray for their success.
