PESHAWAR: The National Peace Jirga Ramadan Night Cricket Tournament concluded successfully in Peshawar, where the Chairman of National Peace Jirga presented the trophy to the winning team at the closing ceremony.
The tournament witnessed enthusiastic participation from various cricket teams, providing a platform for healthy sporting activities during the holy month of Ramadan. At the end of the competition, the winning team was awarded the trophy in recognition of their performance.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman Qaumi Aman Jirga and Patron of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Peshawar City, Maulana Muhammad Iqbal Shah Hydari, said that the main purpose of organizing such healthy sports activities is to protect youth from social evils. He emphasized that engaging young people in sports and positive activities helps keep them away from drugs, gambling, and other immoral practices.
He further stated that the National Peace Jirga will continue organizing similar programs in the future to guide the youth towards constructive and positive activities.
Among those present on the occasion were Provincial General Secretary Syed Azhar Ali, General Secretary Muhammad Umar Khan, District Information Secretary Hekmatyar Khan, Deputy General Secretary Maulana Bahrullah, Asfandiar Khan, and other officials.
Tournament organizer Bilal Khan, Deputy General Secretary of Qaumi Aman Jirga Peshawar City, thanked all participating teams and attendees, stating that such tournaments play an important role in promoting healthy and positive activities among the youth. During the ceremony, the trophy was also presented to the winning player of the Ramadan Night Cricket Tournament.
