PESHAWAR: The trials of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Badminton Association for the National Ranking Badminton Championship 2026 have been successfully completed at Hayatabad Sports Complex, Peshawar. The championship will be held in Islamabad from October 4 to 9, 2026.
More than 50 male and female players from different districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa participated in the trials, showcasing their skills in singles, doubles and mixed doubles events. The players were selected on the basis of performance and merit.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Badminton Association President Bilal Khan, General Secretary Mian Sadaqat Shah and Deputy General Secretary Masood Khan were present on the occasion. The trials were conducted under the supervision of Directorate coaches Hayatullah and Bushra.
The men’s team comprises Murad Ali, Abdul Haseeb Khan, Daniyal Shehzada, Afnan Khan, Taimur Khan, Hashir Shah and Mikael Khan, while the women’s team includes Laiba Mushtaq, Marwa Jadoon, Sapna Liaqat and Jiya Abid.
Association officials expressed hope that all the selected players, including 2026 National Champion Murad Ali, will put up strong performances at the National Ranking Championship and bring pride to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
