PESHAWAR: In line with the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government’s zerotolerance policy against norcotics and the directives of Minister Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Syed Fakhar Jehan, the Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department continues its crackdown against drug traffickers and smugglers across the province. During separate operations in Peshawar and Mardan, a total of more than 63 kilograms of hashish and 1,060 intoxicating tablets were recovered, and multiple accused were arrested. In this regard, the Excise Bureau of Intelligence and Investigation Squad conducted an operation at the joint check post near Motorway Toll Plaza, Peshawar, where accused Gul Zeb, son of Fazal Wahid was arrested on the spot after recovering 2,400 grams of hashish from his possession. Similarly, the Excise Police Station Peshawar, acting on secret information, recovered 1,185 grams of hashish from accused Naveed Jan son of Abdul Shed, resident of Naguman, during a search of a passenger vehicle at the joint check post, and arrested him. In another operation in Peshawar, the Excise Bureau of Intelligence and Investigation Squad arrested accused Hamidullah son of Sharif Khan near Supply Gate Canal on GT Road and recovered 1,060 intoxicating tablets weighing a total of 432 grams from his possession. Meanwhile, in Mardan, the Excise Bureau of Intelligence and Investigation Squad conducted an operation on Ring Road and recovered 12,000 grams of hashish from vehicle No. RIP-307, arresting accused Noor Malik son of Ali Haider, resident of Charsadda.
