Pakistani Researcher Introduces D-ACT Model to Advance Human–AI Communication Studies

TIMES REPORT

Peshawar: Researcher Mr. Aamir Ayub has proposed a novel theoretical framework, The D-ACT (Dynamic-Agentic Communication Theory), contributing to the emerging field of Human–AI Communication from a social science perspective. The framework was published in the Proceedings of the 5th International Conference of Media Science and Digital Communication (MSDC-25).

The D-ACT Model is designed to explain the dynamic and agentic nature of communication between humans and artificial intelligence systems. The framework aims to provide scholars and practitioners with a structured approach to understanding how humans and AI interact in increasingly digital and intelligent communication environments.

According to the researcher, the framework was initially developed under the title “The HAiC Model” (Human–AI Communication Model). During the refinement and updating of the research paper, the model was further developed and renamed “The D-ACT Model (Dynamic-Agentic Communication Theory)” to better reflect its theoretical scope and conceptual foundations.

The publication marks a contribution to the growing academic discourse on Human–AI Communication, an interdisciplinary field that examines the social, psychological, and communicative dimensions of interactions between humans and artificial intelligence.
