Peshawar wins KP Inter-Divisional Jujitsu Championship

PESHAWAR: Peshawar clinched the overall title of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inter-Divisional Cadet and Junior Men’s and Women’s Jujitsu Championship, while Malakand finished runners-up and Mardan secured third position.

The two-day championship, organised by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Jujitsu Association in Peshawar, featured Newaza competitions in various weight categories. Players from Peshawar, Malakand, Mardan, Swat, Kohat, Hazara and Dera Ismail Khan participated and displayed impressive skills.

In the women’s events, Areesha of Swat won the 40kg category, Manahil of Peshawar took the 45kg title, Fatima of Peshawar won the 50kg category and Busra of Peshawar claimed the 62kg title.

Among the men, Muhammad Sadiq of Malakand won the 35kg category, Rohab of Peshawar the 40kg, Umar Farooq of Peshawar the 45kg, Saddam of Peshawar the 50kg, Faisal of Peshawar the 56kg, Saddam of Peshawar the 62kg and Aman of Peshawar the 69kg category.

Assistant Director Accounts Shah Faisal distributed prizes among the winners at the concluding ceremony. President KP Jujitsu Association Tehsinullah, General Secretary Naeem Jan and other officials were also present.

The organisers said the championship aimed to provide young athletes with competitive opportunities and promote jujitsu across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
