Prof Dr Razia Sultana Chairs Women University Mardan’s First Board of Faculty Meeting

MARDAN: Women University Mardan successfully convened the 1st Meeting of the Board of Faculty of Sciences and Faculty of Arts & Humanities under the chairmanship of Prof. Dr. Razia Sultana, Vice Chancellor, Women University Mardan
The meeting was attended by all members of the Board of Faculty of Sciences and Faculty of Arts & Humanities, Ms. Haleema Ikram, Director Academics, and distinguished external experts Prof. Dr. Rasul Jan and Prof. Dr. Minhaj ul Hassan, whose valuable academic expertise and recommendations significantly enriched the deliberations.
The Board considered a comprehensive agenda focusing on academic quality enhancement, curriculum development, implementation of Higher Education Commission (HEC) policies, and other statutory academic matters. Following detailed deliberations, the recommendations and minutes of the Boards of Studies of all departments under the Faculty of Sciences and the Faculty of Arts & Humanities were unanimously approved for onward submission to the Academic Council in accordance with the statutory provisions of the University.
The Board also approved the implementation of the mandatory 3-credit hour Artificial Intelligence (AI) course across relevant academic programmes, incorporation of Fehme-ul-Quran I & II as compulsory credit-bearing courses for eligible students, and adoption of the revised Pakistan Studies curriculum in line with the latest directives of the Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan.
During the meeting, the Board reviewed and approved several academic proposals, including the Established of new academic programmes under the Department of Allied Health Science and Art & Design, reflecting the University’s commitment to expanding quality academic opportunities for females in emerging and professionally relevant disciplines.
Addressing the participants, Prof. Dr. Razia Sultana, Vice Chancellor, emphasized the importance of continuously strengthening academic standards through curriculum modernization, innovation, research, and strict adherence to national quality assurance frameworks. She appreciated the dedicated efforts of the faculty members, Ms. Haleema Ikram, Director Academics, and the distinguished external experts for their valuable contributions towards the University’s academic development.
The distinguished external experts, Prof. Dr. Rasul Jan and Prof. Dr. Minhaj ul Hassan, commended Women University Mardan for its proactive approach towards academic governance, curriculum enhancement, and implementation of HEC reforms. They appreciated the University’s commitment to maintaining high academic standards and providing quality higher education that prepares graduates to meet contemporary academic and professional challenges.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks by the Chair to all participants for their constructive contributions. The successful conduct of the 1st Meeting of the Board of Faculty of Sciences and Faculty of Arts & Humanities reaffirmed Women University Mardan’s commitment to academic excellence, quality assurance, research, innovation, and women empowerment through quality higher education.
