BAJAUR: Rescue 1122 Bajaur responded to 362 emergencies of different kinds across the district during August 2026, providing medical assistance to 349 injured and sick people and shifting them to various hospitals where necessary.
District Emergency Officer Amjad Khan has released the monthly performance report of Rescue 1122 Bajaur for August 2026.
According to the report, the Rescue 1122 control room received a total of 25,064 calls during August. These included 362 emergency calls and 3,223 information calls, while 21,479 calls were found to be unnecessary or fake.
The emergencies included 280 medical cases, 38 road traffic accidents, 16 gunshot incidents, four fire incidents, two drowning cases and one blast/explosion, along with 21 other recovery-related emergencies.
According to Rescue 1122 Bajaur Media Coordinator Riaz Khan, the service also continued its patient referral service during the month. A total of 104 patients were referred for better medical treatment. Of these, 34 patients were shifted from various tehsil hospitals in Bajaur to the District Headquarters Hospital Khar, while 71 critically ill or seriously injured patients were shifted from Bajaur to major teaching hospitals in Peshawar for further treatment.
Riaz Khan said that Rescue 1122 teams provided timely emergency response and professional medical assistance to patients and injured people across the district.
District Emergency Officer Amjad Khan expressed concern over the high number of unnecessary and fake calls and urged the public to use the Rescue 1122 emergency number only in genuine emergencies.
He said unnecessary calls keep emergency lines busy and could delay assistance to people facing real emergencies, potentially putting their lives at risk.
