Bajaur: A meeting was held in Bajaur under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Shahid Ali Khan to review security and public facilitation arrangements for the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr.
The meeting was attended by the District Police Officer, Additional Deputy Commissioner (General), Assistant Commissioners, Additional Assistant Commissioners, and officials from the Health Department, Rescue 1122, TMA, Traffic Police, Civil Defense, and other relevant departments. During the meeting, detailed instructions were issued to ensure security at Eidgahs, mosques, and markets, maintain smooth traffic flow in bazaars, and improve cleanliness arrangements.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the Traffic Police and Rescue 1122 to prepare a comprehensive emergency response plan to deal with any untoward incidents during the Eid days and to perform special duties at tourist spots. It was also decided that strict legal action would be taken by the administration and the Transport Department against drivers charging fares higher than the officially notified rates.
The Health Department was instructed to ensure the availability of doctors, medical staff, and medicines around the clock at District Headquarters Hospital Khar, Category-D Hospitals in Nawagai, Pasht, and Larkholozo, so that timely medical facilities could be provided to the public.
According to the district administration, special security and traffic plans will be implemented during Eid at markets, Eidgahs, and tourist spots, particularly at Raghagan Dam and Tali Dam. Strict legal action and arrests will be made against those involved in aerial firing, one-wheeling, over-speeding, and violations of safety guidelines related to boating.
The Deputy Commissioner stated that during Eid, officers of the administration, police, and other relevant departments will remain present in the field to ensure a prompt and effective response to any emergency situation.
