RMI Media Cricket League: Defending Champions PPC Markhor Reach Quarter-Finals

Peshawar : Multiple matches were decided in the RMI Media Cricket League, where defending champions PPC Markhor delivered an impressive performance to qualify for the second round. PPC Bulls, PPC Gladiators and PPC Kings also secured victories in their respective matches.

In the first match played at the Gymkhana Cricket Ground Peshawar, PPC Markhor defeated PPC Pakhtoon by 43 runs to book their place in the quarter-finals. Batting first, Markhor scored 127 runs for the loss of two wickets, with Yasir Ali contributing 46 and Ajmal adding 43 runs. In reply, Pakhtoon were restricted to 84 runs for six wickets. Safeer scored 29, while Nasir added 27 runs. Shehzad Rasheed was declared Man of the Match for his outstanding performance.

The second match of the day was contested between PPC Fighters and PPC Bulls. Batting first, Bulls posted 78 runs for four wickets, with Hassan Ali’s 29 runs being the standout performance, earning him the Man of the Match award. In response, Fighters were bowled out for 53 runs.

In the third encounter, PPC Gladiators defeated PPC Darwaish by 8 wickets. Darwaish set a target of 78 runs for the loss of three wickets which Gladiators successfully chased down, losing only three wickets. Ehsanullah, who scored 27 runs was named Man of the Match.

The final match of the day was played between PPC Spiders and PPC Kings. Spiders put up 96 runs for three wickets while batting first. In reply Kings showcased solid batting and achieved the target with the loss of just two wickets. Kashan, with a decisive knock of 41 runs, was awarded Man of the Match.

Umpiring duties throughout the matches were performed by Abid ur Rehman, Nafees Ahmed and Zaheeruddin Babar.
