ISLAMABAD: Chairperson of the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Senator Rubina Khalid, met Chairperson of the Sindh Commission on the Status of Women, Advocate Rubina Aman Brohi, at BISP Headquarters to discuss the welfare of women beneficiaries and ways to strengthen institutional cooperation.
During the meeting, both sides exchanged views on enhancing collaboration to address the challenges faced by women beneficiaries through effective and sustainable solutions. They emphasized the importance of closer coordination between BISP and the Sindh Commission on the Status of Women to improve support services for deserving women.
The participants also discussed a proposal to organize a roundtable conference bringing together the heads of the federal and provincial commissions on the status of women to promote coordinated policymaking and stronger institutional partnerships.
Advocate Rubina Aman Brohi appreciated BISP’s initiatives aimed at promoting women’s financial inclusion, particularly the introduction of the digital wallet system. She described the programme as a significant step toward empowering women by providing them with transparent and modern financial services.
Senator Rubina Khalid reaffirmed BISP’s commitment to expanding access to secure and transparent financial facilities for women under her leadership. She stressed that stronger inter-agency cooperation is essential for promoting women’s economic independence and financial inclusion.
Both sides agreed that enhanced collaboration between BISP and institutions working for women’s rights would enable the delivery of more effective services and greater support to deserving women across the country.
