State-of-the-Art Police Facilitation Centre a Gift for Citizens, Says DPO Mardan

TIMES REPORT

MARDAN: District Police Officer (DPO) Mardan Masood Ahmad has said that the state-of-the-art Police Facilitation Centre established in Police Station Saddar Mardan is a valuable gift for the people, providing 19 different services under one roof in a modern and citizen-friendly environment.
Speaking to journalists during a visit to the facility, the DPO said the provincial government had approved the Safe City Project for Mardan, which would help improve crime prevention, surveillance and investigation mechanisms.
He said that, in line with the vision of the Inspector General of Police, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, significant improvements had been made in police lines, including the renovation of the police mess, recreation centre and barracks. Facilities at police stations had also been upgraded through the construction of washrooms and waiting areas for both staff and visitors.
Mr Ahmad said the construction of a Police Facilitation Centre in Rustam tehsil had been completed and would soon be inaugurated, while similar centres were also being established in Katlang and Takht Bhai.
He said the Mardan facilitation centre featured separate waiting rooms and washrooms for men and women, along with dedicated service counters. A modern cafeteria had also been established for the convenience of visitors and staff.
The DPO noted that Mardan was one of the province’s major commercial hubs and that increasing business activity and population growth had led to mounting parking issues. He said that, on the recommendation of the district police, the provincial government had also approved the construction of a parking plaza in the city to address the problem.
Earlier, members of the Mardan Press Club were taken on a visit to the police lines, the DPO office and the Police Facilitation Centre. During the visit, Facilitation Centre In-charge Yasir Arafat and Public Relations Officer Faheem Khan briefed journalists on the facility’s infrastructure, ongoing development work and the services being provided to the public.
