Summaiya Arif Successfully Defends PhD Thesis at SBBWU

PESHAWAR : Research scholar Summaiya Arif successfully defended her PhD thesis titled “Impact of Social Media Use on Psychological and Physiological Well-Being of Adults with Sedentary and Active Lifestyles” at Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women University (SBBWU), Peshawar.

The research was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Ume Kalsoom, Assistant Professor at SBBWU. The thesis was evaluated by Dr. Summaiya Ahmad, Associate Professor and Head of the Department at the University of Peshawar, who served as the external examiner. The examination committee appreciated the quality of the research and declared the candidate successful in her PhD defense.

The defense was attended by Prof. Dr. Farhat Amin, Vice Chancellor of SBBWU, and Dr. Saima Perwez, Head of the Department of Psychology, who congratulated the scholar and praised the academic significance and relevance of her research.

Speaking on the occasion, Summaiya Arif expressed gratitude to Allah Almighty for granting her the strength and perseverance to achieve this milestone. She thanked her supervisor, Dr. Ume Kalsoom, for her guidance and mentorship throughout the research process. She also acknowledged the support of her mother, her husband Nasir Kamal (Programme Producer at Pakistan Television Corporation Peshawar), as well as her family, friends, teachers, and well-wishers.

The successful completion of the doctoral defense marks a significant achievement in Summaiya Arif’s academic career and reflects SBBWU’s continued commitment to excellence in research and higher education.
