ABU DHABI: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has expressed deep concern over recent developments in the region and called for an immediate halt to the escalating tensions to prevent further instability and violence.
In an official statement, the UAE urged all parties to exercise the utmost restraint to avoid dangerous consequences and prevent the region from being drawn into a new cycle of conflict.
The UAE emphasized the need for an immediate cessation of hostilities and a swift return to dialogue and negotiations. It also stressed the importance of ensuring safe and uninterrupted navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, describing it as essential to the stability of the global economy.
The statement further condemned the targeting of civilian infrastructure, including schools, universities, hospitals, desalination plants, energy facilities, transportation hubs, and residential areas, calling such attacks a serious violation of international law. The UAE reaffirmed that attacks on civilian facilities cannot be accepted or justified under any circumstances.
