WASHINGTON, D.C.: The United Arab Emirates has strengthened international cooperation on statistics and sustainable development through high-level meetings with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the World Bank Group and the World Justice Project.
The meetings were held by Hanan Ahli, Managing Director of the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Centre and Chair of the UAE National Committee on Sustainable Development Goals, following the UAE’s participation in the ministerial segment of the United Nations High-Level Political Forum 2026.
Discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in official statistics, transforming the UAE National Statistical System, conducting a comprehensive review of the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP), and exploring the use of Agentic Artificial Intelligence in producing official statistics.
The meetings underscored the UAE’s commitment to adopting advanced technologies and strengthening international partnerships to support data-driven policymaking and sustainable development.
