PESHAWAR : The Video Journalists Forum presented a commemorative souvenir to Peshawar Press Club President M. Riaz in recognition of his receiving the Sitara-i-Imtiaz civil award from the Government of Pakistan for his journalistic services.
Video Journalists Forum President Bilal Ahmed presented the souvenir to M. Riaz on behalf of the forum during a General Body meeting of the Peshawar Press Club and paid tribute to his long-standing and valuable services to journalism.
On the occasion, Bilal Ahmed also presented a resolution before the General Body in recognition of M. Riaz’s services, which was unanimously approved by the meeting.
The resolution stated that M. Riaz’s nomination for the Sitara-i-Imtiaz and the conferment of the national award are recognition of his four decades of journalistic services, professional commitment and valuable contributions to the field of journalism. It also acknowledged his outstanding services for the rights and welfare of working journalists through the platform of the Peshawar Press Club.
The resolution described M. Riaz’s national honour as a collective honour for the entire journalist community and said his services and achievements serve as an encouraging example for the younger generation of journalists.
The General Body congratulated M. Riaz on receiving the Sitara-i-Imtiaz and expressed its best wishes for his continued success and further contributions to journalism. The participants also reaffirmed their commitment to continued cooperation for the welfare and professional rights of the journalist community.
